We look after Rockhampton, Yeppoon and the Capricorn Coast – so no matter where you are in this area, we can help!
At Flowtek, we’re all about the little things – like turning up on time, like treating your home with respect and cleaning up after ourselves, and about always performing the highest quality work. We also like to have a chat and a laugh too!
Yes! Water and gas emergencies like blocked drains, leaks, and other plumbing dramas don’t wait – and neither do we. Our local emergency teams are ready to respond promptly during all active business hours to resolve any and all urgent plumbing needs.
First and foremost, an instantaneous hot water system is significantly more energy efficient than a traditional tank. Whereas a tank heats all the water contained within it several times a day, an instantaneous system only heats the water you’re using – resulting in a big cash saving.
A gas leak is serious business: carbon monoxide poisoning leads to breathing difficulty, headaches, nausea, and dizziness. Most importantly: if you feel anyone and/or any property is in harm’s way due to a gas leak, contact 000 immediately. You should turn off all appliances, including your electrical appliances and pilot lights. Open all of your doors and windows to help with ventilation, but only if it is safe to do so. Shut off the main gas valve and call our emergency response team immediately to locate the leak and repair it as soon as possible.
A blocked drain is a frustrating and inconvenient problem to deal with. One effective method is using a plunger to create suction and dislodge the blockage. Simply place the plunger over the drain, then push and pull vigorously to create pressure that can break up the clog.
If these methods don’t work, contact us as the blockage might be severe enough to warrant professional intervention.
We’ve seen heaps of these with all the recent rain. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do other than turn off your water supply to limit the damage, call our emergency response team to fix it up ASAP, and get in touch with your home insurer.
Check the hot water elsewhere in your house. If it’s not working at all, there’s a problem with your hot water tank. If it is working, there may be a burst or leaky pipe somewhere. Either way, give us a call and we’ll come to sort it out.
Backflow valves are critical parts of any plumbing system: they stop contaminated water from flowing back into the clean (ie, drinking) water supply. We’ll let you use your imagination as to exactly what ‘contaminated’ might contain: in any event, it’s not good! If you’re concerned that your backflow valves aren’t working, or just want us to check them, contact us today.
Thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) blend hot and cold water to a safe temperature to prevent scalds. They also shut off rapidly in the event of a hot or cold water supply failure – preventing scalding or a thermal shock. They’re both a great safety feature and an energy-saving measure, as they can provide a constant water temperature. However, if they fail, you can all too easily end up with injuries. If you’re concerned about your water temperature, contact us today.

Solar hot water systems are a super environmentally friendly way to heat your water, and work fantastically with the amount of sunlight we get at our latitude. They use solar panels on your roof to heat water in a tank either attached to the panel or situated elsewhere – storing the hot water ready for use. As hot water system experts, Flowtek can help select the best option for you. We’ll look at water needs, present a range of options for you to select from, then install the system of your choice.
Heat pump hot water systems are another great renewable water heater system. They absorb heat from the air through an evaporator and transfer it into water through a heat exchanger. The heated water is circulated back into the storage tank. As hot water system experts, Flowtek can help select the best option for you. We’ll look at water needs, present a range of options for you to select from, then install the system of your choice.
