I had a plumbing emergency where an underground pipe burst flooding my house. Jason from Flowtek plumbing services attended within 10 minutes and closed off the system. He diagnosed to problem, located the source of the leak through a heat detection instrument and came up with a transparent plan to fix.Jason and his team commenced a dig within the existing kitchen corner cupboard space, very awkward and through concrete where the pipe was located a deep (about 18 inches deep). The pipe was fixed in situ and back to working order. Jason and his team made sure no cupboards or tiles were damaged and worked tirelessly late into the evenings to make sure we’re had water back in line as soon as possible.I cannot recommend Flowtec enough. I was over the moon with work and the final invoice was significantly under my estimated costing.Thank you all, amazing work 👍🏻

Bathroom, kitchen and laundry renovation plumbing
Creating your dream bathroom, kitchen or laundry? The plumbing you cannot see is the part that ruins a renovation. We cover the water and the gas on the same job, so a kitchen with a gas cooktop takes one trade instead of two.
- We turn up on time.
- We do the job well (and clean up afterwards).
- We talk to you (and have a laugh).
The part you cannot see is the part that ruins it
A renovation goes wrong in the walls and under the floor, not on the tiles. If there is one room where the plumbing has to be right first time it is the bathroom, because fixing it afterwards means the tiles, the grout and the waterproofing all come off with it.
So the useful moment to get us in is before the tiler is booked, not after. On an older house we can tell you what is actually behind the wall, which decides the budget far more than the tapware selection does.
What we usually find, by suburb
In Kawana and Glenmore, a 1990s refit that has now aged out: sound drainage, tired copper, and mixer bodies past their service life. In Taranganba, an original 1980s bathroom where the waste and vent are serviceable but the waterproofing has done its time.
On The Range in Rockhampton it is a different job entirely. Those large Queenslanders have had bathrooms added at different times over a century, hanging off drainage that was laid for a house with far fewer wet areas, with galvanised water lines still in service in places. That is not a swap-out, it is a proper job, and it should be quoted after a look rather than over the phone.
One trade for the water and the gas
This is the thing worth knowing when you are getting quotes. Gas fitting is licensed work, so a kitchen with a gas cooktop normally needs a plumber and a gas fitter. We are licensed for both. One visit, one person responsible for how the two meet, and no waiting on the second trade while the kitchen sits half finished.
It also means we take the small specialist runs that get left unsolved: a plumbed fridge, a coffee machine, an outdoor kitchen. They are minor jobs that hold up a whole project when nobody has planned for them.
Commercial renovations
We do commercial fitout as well as domestic, including commercial kitchen gas fitting. On a commercial job the compliance work sits alongside the fitout, so backflow prevention and thermostatic mixing valves are worth sorting at the same time rather than as a separate visit later.

What customers actually said
Couldn’t recommend this service enough! My husband was away and my kitchen sink backed up, he came and fixed it that day and gave me some great advice to stop it happening again. The price was great! I was quoted twice that by the bigger companies and they also couldn’t get to me for days.
Broken hot water system. Contacted a few places and was advised a three week wait …. Sent a text message to Jason and he was able to pop out and install a new one the next day! Awesome service, great plumbing and very competitive pricing! Plus great at answering my many questions. So grateful not to have to shower in cold water during winter 🥶. Thanks again Jason
These are customers' own words about their own jobs, published on our Google Business Profile and quoted here exactly as they wrote them, misspellings of our name included. They describe what happened on those days. They are not a promise about how quickly we can get to you.
Renovations questions we get asked
When in the renovation should the plumber come?
Twice, and the first time is earlier than most people think. We want to see the space before the layout is locked in, because where the existing waste and vent sit is the single biggest driver of cost. Then we do the rough-in before the walls close, and the fit-off after the tiling. Getting us in at the start usually saves money rather than costing it.
Can you move the toilet or the shower to a different wall?
Usually, but it is the question that changes the price. Moving a fixture means moving the waste, and how easy that is depends on where the existing line runs, how much fall is available and what the floor is made of. On a high-set Queenslander with good under-house access it is straightforward. On a slab it is a different conversation.
Do you work with our builder or tiler?
Yes, and it goes better when we are talking to them directly rather than through you. Give us their number and we will sort the sequencing between ourselves, which is what stops a bathroom sitting idle waiting for someone.
Can you plumb a fridge or a coffee machine?
Yes. They are small runs that get forgotten at planning stage and then hold everything up, so it is worth mentioning them at the start. Same with an outdoor kitchen or a second gas point.

While we are there
We are licensed for water and for gas, so if something else is playing up while we are on site, say so on the form. It saves you a second call out.

Hot water systems
You turn on the tap and wait for it to warm up. And wait. And wait. We install energy efficient hot water systems and troubleshoot the one you already have. Instantaneous gas, solar and heat pump, plus repairs on whatever is out there now.
Hot water
Blocked drains and maintenance
Water coming back up through the plugholes, and the plunger has given up. Blocked dunnies, leaking taps, corroded pipework and water pressure that is either a dribble or a rumble. This is the bread and butter service call.
Blocked drains
Gas installation and gas fitting
Make sure you are (safely) cooking with gas. Gas is the licensed, higher risk work a handyman cannot legally touch. Hot water systems, stovetops and ovens are the speciality, domestic and commercial, including commercial kitchens.

Backflow and TMV testing
The test is annual, and the reminder never comes at a good time. Backflow valves stop contaminated water flowing back into the drinking supply. Thermostatic mixing valves blend hot and cold to a safe temperature so nobody gets scalded. Both need testing, and we test and repair on the spot.
