Not urgent

Something has stopped working properly

No hot water, a drain that is slow, a tap that will not stop. It can wait a day, but it is not going to fix itself.

Six services

Plumbing and gas services in Glenmore

Six things, and the three at the top are what Glenmore rings us about most. Every one of them is done by a licensed plumber and gas fitter, and the site gets cleaned up before we leave.

Hot water systems in Glenmore

You turn on the tap and wait for it to warm up. And wait. And wait. We install energy efficient hot water systems and troubleshoot the one you already have. Instantaneous gas, solar and heat pump, plus repairs on whatever is out there now.

Blocked drains and maintenance in Glenmore

Water coming back up through the plugholes, and the plunger has given up. Blocked dunnies, leaking taps, corroded pipework and water pressure that is either a dribble or a rumble. This is the bread and butter service call.

Bathroom and kitchen renovations in Glenmore

Creating your dream bathroom, kitchen or laundry? The plumbing you cannot see is the part that ruins a renovation. We cover the water and the gas on the same job, so a kitchen with a gas cooktop takes one trade instead of two.

Gas installation and gas fitting in Glenmore

Make sure you are (safely) cooking with gas. Gas is the licensed, higher risk work a handyman cannot legally touch. Hot water systems, stovetops and ovens are the speciality, domestic and commercial, including commercial kitchens.

Backflow and TMV testing in Glenmore

The test is annual, and the reminder never comes at a good time. Backflow valves stop contaminated water flowing back into the drinking supply. Thermostatic mixing valves blend hot and cold to a safe temperature so nobody gets scalded. Both need testing, and we test and repair on the spot.

What customers said about the work

Google reviews from across Yeppoon, Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast, quoted exactly as they were written.

Highly recommend Jason and the team from Flowtek Services! There was great communication from start to finish, they were able to promptly fit me into their schedule, charged a fair price and most importantly fixed a job another popular plumbing business couldn’t!! 10/10 guys thank you!!

These are customers' own words about their own jobs, published on our Google Business Profile and quoted here exactly as they wrote them, misspellings of our name included. They describe what happened on those days. They are not a promise about how quickly we can get to you.

Glenmore questions we actually get asked

We keep getting small leaks in different places. Is that a coincidence?

In a Glenmore house of that age it usually is not. When copper reaches the point of pinholing, the first leak is a warning about the rest of the run, not a one-off. Each repair is cheap and the sequence of them is not, so it is worth us assessing the whole run before you keep paying for patches.

Does the Rockhampton heat really shorten a hot water system's life?

It does not help. A unit sitting in full afternoon sun on a west wall through a Rockhampton summer works harder on its seals and its valve than the same unit in shade. Where an outdoor unit is going in, where we put it is worth thirty seconds of thought.

No mystery

What happens when you ring

Four things, in order. You could check every one of them the next day.

  1. You ring or you text

Tell us the suburb and what is happening. A photo of the unit or the leak tells us more than a paragraph does.

  2. We work out what it needs

Sometimes that is a question or two on the phone. Sometimes it is obvious from the photo.

  3. We come and look

Nobody prices a job properly down a phone line, so we come and look before anyone talks about money.

  4. You get told what it involves

What the job is, what it takes and what happens if you leave it. Then it is your call.

Quicker than explaining it

Not sure what you're looking at?

Take a photo of it and text that instead. The plate on a hot water unit, the fitting that is dripping, the wet patch in the yard. It tells us the make, the age and usually the fault, which saves you describing it and saves us guessing.

Texts get read between jobs. If it's an emergency, ring instead.

Get a Glenmore plumber out

Three fields we need, two that help. If it is urgent, ring instead, it is faster.

The quickest way for us to get back to you.
Not on the list? Type it in and we will tell you straight whether we come out there.
The make and age of the unit, or where the water is coming from, saves us both a trip.

What we know about the pipes in Glenmore

Glenmore is the awkward age, and that is exactly why it keeps us busy. The bulk of it is lowset brick from the 1960s through the 1980s, with newer infill dropped in between. A house from that era is old enough that the original copper is at the point where pinhole leaks start turning up, and old enough that the second hot water system, not the first, is now due. It is not old enough to be on clay sewer throughout like Park Avenue, so the drainage is generally better behaved. The thing we see most in Glenmore is a house that has had one thing replaced at a time over forty years, so there are three generations of fitting on the one wall and nobody knows which isolator does what. It is also hot here. Rockhampton summers push into the high thirties regularly, and an outdoor hot water unit or an exposed run on a west wall lives a harder life than the same unit would on the coast.

What goes wrong in Glenmore

Pinhole leaks in ageing copper, and hot water systems on their second or third replacement. Both are age, not abuse.

A mains pressure electric storage unit in and connected, tempering valve on the outlet. On this coast the fittings and the valve usually go well before the tank does. A Flowtek job. We have not recorded which street it was on, so we are not going to claim it was this one.

Access and parking in Glenmore

Established streets with mature trees and standard suburban frontage. Nothing unusual, though tree roots near an older line are worth checking before anyone digs.
