Six services

Plumbing and gas services in Parkhurst

Six things, and the three at the top are what Parkhurst rings us about most. Every one of them is done by a licensed plumber and gas fitter, and the site gets cleaned up before we leave.

Gas installation and gas fitting in Parkhurst

Make sure you are (safely) cooking with gas. Gas is the licensed, higher risk work a handyman cannot legally touch. Hot water systems, stovetops and ovens are the speciality, domestic and commercial, including commercial kitchens.

Bathroom and kitchen renovations in Parkhurst

Creating your dream bathroom, kitchen or laundry? The plumbing you cannot see is the part that ruins a renovation. We cover the water and the gas on the same job, so a kitchen with a gas cooktop takes one trade instead of two.

Hot water systems in Parkhurst

You turn on the tap and wait for it to warm up. And wait. And wait. We install energy efficient hot water systems and troubleshoot the one you already have. Instantaneous gas, solar and heat pump, plus repairs on whatever is out there now.

Blocked drains and maintenance in Parkhurst

Water coming back up through the plugholes, and the plunger has given up. Blocked dunnies, leaking taps, corroded pipework and water pressure that is either a dribble or a rumble. This is the bread and butter service call.

Backflow and TMV testing in Parkhurst

The test is annual, and the reminder never comes at a good time. Backflow valves stop contaminated water flowing back into the drinking supply. Thermostatic mixing valves blend hot and cold to a safe temperature so nobody gets scalded. Both need testing, and we test and repair on the spot.

Water is going everywhere and it is not stopping on its own. Our local emergency team is ready to respond promptly during all active business hours. Burst pipes, water leaks, blocked drains and suspected gas leaks.

Flowtek did a bathroom renovation for me. Great ideas and awesome quality but even a better chat.

Have we worked in Parkhurst?

We work across Rockhampton from Yeppoon, but we are not going to put a made-up job or a borrowed photo on this page to prove it. If we have done work at your place in Parkhurst, a Google review helps your neighbours far more than anything we could write here.

  • Licensed Plumber & Gas Fitter
  • Based in Yeppoon, not a call centre in another state
  • Water and gas from the one trade on the same job
  • We turn up on time, and we clean up afterwards

What customers said about the work

Google reviews from across Yeppoon, Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast, quoted exactly as they were written.

Jason from Flowtech Services was great to deal with. He responded quickly, arrived on time, completed the work to a high standard, and cleaned up the job site afterwards. I would recommend him to anyone needing reliable and professional service.

Timothy Parker Google review, December 2024

Jason was incredibly efficient, friendly, reliable and professional. Workmanship is spot on. Absolutely recommend and will be using him again for our home Reno project.

Terri Thornton Google review, March 2024

These are customers' own words about their own jobs, published on our Google Business Profile and quoted here exactly as they wrote them, misspellings of our name included. They describe what happened on those days. They are not a promise about how quickly we can get to you.

Parkhurst questions we actually get asked

Do you do backflow and thermostatic mixing valve testing for Parkhurst businesses?

Yes, both, ad hoc or on the annual cycle. Backflow prevention devices stop contaminated water getting back into the drinking supply, and thermostatic mixing valves keep the hot water at a temperature that will not scald. If we find a problem while we are testing, we fix it there rather than booking a second visit, and you get the report for your records.

Can you plumb a rainwater tank into a new Parkhurst house?

Yes. The parts worth getting right are the first flush, the screening, and how the tank supply changes over to mains when the tank runs low, because a poorly set up changeover either runs your tank dry or never uses it at all.

No mystery

What happens when you ring

Four things, in order. You could check every one of them the next day.

  1. You ring or you text

Tell us the suburb and what is happening. A photo of the unit or the leak tells us more than a paragraph does.

  2. We work out what it needs

Sometimes that is a question or two on the phone. Sometimes it is obvious from the photo.

  3. We come and look

Nobody prices a job properly down a phone line, so we come and look before anyone talks about money.

  4. You get told what it involves

What the job is, what it takes and what happens if you leave it. Then it is your call.

Quicker than explaining it

Not sure what you're looking at?

Take a photo of it and text that instead. The plate on a hot water unit, the fitting that is dripping, the wet patch in the yard. It tells us the make, the age and usually the fault, which saves you describing it and saves us guessing.

Texts get read between jobs. If it's an emergency, ring instead.

Three fields we need, two that help. If it is urgent, ring instead, it is faster.

The quickest way for us to get back to you.
Not on the list? Type it in and we will tell you straight whether we come out there.
The make and age of the unit, or where the water is coming from, saves us both a trip.

What we know about the pipes in Parkhurst

Parkhurst is where Rockhampton has been building, and the estates here are almost all 2000s onwards with new lots still coming out of the ground. That makes it the least repair-driven suburb in this whole library. The pipe is new, the drainage is designed, and there is nothing old enough to have failed yet. So the work is what a growth suburb generates: fit-off and connection on new builds, gas points for cooktops and outdoor kitchens, rainwater tanks plumbed back to the house, and the first wave of hot water changeovers on the earliest estate lots, which are now fifteen to twenty years in. There is older acreage on the fringes towards Rockyview and the highway, and that is a completely different job, tank supply and on-site treatment rather than mains and sewer. Parkhurst is also on the Bruce Highway corridor, so there is commercial and light industrial along Yaamba Road, which brings backflow prevention and thermostatic mixing valve testing rather than domestic work.

What we do most in Parkhurst

New work and additions, not repairs. Gas, tanks, ensuites, and the first round of hot water changeovers. Commercial along Yaamba Road brings compliance testing.

Runs of copper and steel services pipework on a commercial ceiling, each line labelled with its own identification tape reading compressed air, vacuum and reverse osmosis water
Compressed air, vacuum, reverse osmosis water. On a commercial fitout every line is identified, because the next person to open that ceiling has to know what they are looking at. A Flowtek job. We have not recorded which street it was on, so we are not going to claim it was this one.
