Not urgent

Something has stopped working properly

Six services

Plumbing and gas services in Kinka Beach

Six things, and the three at the top are what Kinka Beach rings us about most. Every one of them is done by a licensed plumber and gas fitter, and the site gets cleaned up before we leave.

Blocked drains and maintenance in Kinka Beach

Water coming back up through the plugholes, and the plunger has given up. Blocked dunnies, leaking taps, corroded pipework and water pressure that is either a dribble or a rumble. This is the bread and butter service call.

Hot water systems in Kinka Beach

You turn on the tap and wait for it to warm up. And wait. And wait. We install energy efficient hot water systems and troubleshoot the one you already have. Instantaneous gas, solar and heat pump, plus repairs on whatever is out there now.

Bathroom and kitchen renovations in Kinka Beach

Creating your dream bathroom, kitchen or laundry? The plumbing you cannot see is the part that ruins a renovation. We cover the water and the gas on the same job, so a kitchen with a gas cooktop takes one trade instead of two.

Gas installation and gas fitting in Kinka Beach

Make sure you are (safely) cooking with gas. Gas is the licensed, higher risk work a handyman cannot legally touch. Hot water systems, stovetops and ovens are the speciality, domestic and commercial, including commercial kitchens.

Backflow and TMV testing in Kinka Beach

The test is annual, and the reminder never comes at a good time. Backflow valves stop contaminated water flowing back into the drinking supply. Thermostatic mixing valves blend hot and cold to a safe temperature so nobody gets scalded. Both need testing, and we test and repair on the spot.

Have we worked in Kinka Beach?

We work across Capricorn Coast from Yeppoon, but we are not going to put a made-up job or a borrowed photo on this page to prove it. If we have done work at your place in Kinka Beach, a Google review helps your neighbours far more than anything we could write here.

These are customers' own words about their own jobs, published on our Google Business Profile and quoted here exactly as they wrote them, misspellings of our name included. They describe what happened on those days. They are not a promise about how quickly we can get to you.

Kinka Beach questions we actually get asked

How do I check for a leak if the ground never gets wet?

The meter is the only reliable test at Kinka Beach. Shut every tap and appliance off, including the toilets and any irrigation, then watch the dial for ten minutes. If it moves at all, water is going somewhere. On sandy ground it will not show on the surface, so waiting for a wet patch just means paying for it longer.

The house is an old shack. Is it worth repiping rather than patching?

Often yes, on a house of that vintage. If we are finding mixed materials, undersized runs and joints that keep failing in different places, each individual repair is cheap and the sequence of them is not. We will tell you straight which one you are looking at.

No mystery

What happens when you ring

Four things, in order. You could check every one of them the next day.

  1. You ring or you text

Tell us the suburb and what is happening. A photo of the unit or the leak tells us more than a paragraph does.

  2. We work out what it needs

Sometimes that is a question or two on the phone. Sometimes it is obvious from the photo.

  3. We come and look

Nobody prices a job properly down a phone line, so we come and look before anyone talks about money.

  4. You get told what it involves

What the job is, what it takes and what happens if you leave it. Then it is your call.

Quicker than explaining it

Not sure what you're looking at?

Take a photo of it and text that instead. The plate on a hot water unit, the fitting that is dripping, the wet patch in the yard. It tells us the make, the age and usually the fault, which saves you describing it and saves us guessing.

Texts get read between jobs. If it's an emergency, ring instead.

What we know about the pipes in Kinka Beach

Kinka Beach is a thin suburb: the highway on one side, the beach on the other, and not much room in between. Two things follow from the ground itself. It is sandy, which makes trenching quick and cheap compared with the clay up on the Taranganba ridge, but it also means a leak in a buried line simply soaks away instead of surfacing. So the classic Kinka Beach fault is a private water line that has been leaking for months with no wet patch to show for it, found on a meter reading rather than by eye. The housing is a mix that tells you the suburb's history: 1960s and 1970s beach shacks that were built as weekenders, sitting next to newer builds on the same street, and a share of properties still on tank supply. On the old shacks the pipework is often the original run with forty years of patches on it.

What goes wrong at Kinka Beach

Buried leaks that never surface, because sandy ground takes the water. After that it is the old weekender pipework: undersized runs, mixed materials, and joints that were meant to be temporary.

Access and parking in Kinka Beach

Easy access off the Scenic Highway, and sandy ground makes digging straightforward. The narrow frontage on some of the older blocks is the only real constraint for a machine.

That figure is a distance, not a promise about the clock. Our local emergency team is ready to respond promptly during all active business hours. Ring us and we will tell you what we can actually do and when.
