Mulambin runs along the Causeway Lake, low and flat and close to tidal water. We are a licensed plumber and gas fitter based in Yeppoon, covering the water and the gas from the one trade.
Mulambin is the flattest and lowest part of this stretch of coast, sitting beside the Causeway Lake, and that is the whole story for drainage here. Stormwater needs fall to work, and on flat ground beside tidal water there is very little of it. On a big rain that coincides with a high tide, the water simply has nowhere to go, so surface flooding here is about the tide as much as the rainfall. The second feature is who owns the houses. The test is annual, and the reminder never comes at a good time. Backflow valves stop contaminated water flowing back into the drinking supply. Thermostatic mixing valves blend hot and cold to a safe temperature so nobody gets scalded. Both need testing, and we test and repair on the spot.
