My pump keeps starting and stopping when no tap is running. Why?
That is short cycling, and it is the most common Farnborough call we get. It is usually either a waterlogged pressure vessel that has lost its air charge, or a small leak somewhere on the line that lets pressure bleed off. Left alone it will kill the pump. Both are straightforward to diagnose once we can see the setup.

What we know about the pipes in Farnborough
Farnborough is where the coast stops being a town and starts being blocks measured in acres. A good share of properties up here are not on town mains and reticulated sewer at all. They run rainwater tanks with a pressure pump, and they treat their own wastewater through a septic or an aerated treatment system. That changes what the calls sound like. "No water" in Yeppoon usually means a burst. In Farnborough it usually means a pump that has lost its prime, a pressure vessel that has waterlogged, or a float switch in a tank. "Blocked drain" here often turns out to be a treatment system that has not been serviced or a soakage trench that has stopped soaking.
